Check engine might be probelm with ecu what do you think?
i had a check engine light come on in my 88 iroc z. i hooked up my scan tool and it told me that my car was not reponding.so i hooked it up to 3 other cars and it worked fine. could there be something wrong with my ECM or CCCS? or something as small as a blown fuse or something? any advise would help right now or it also has a 5.7 liter v8 would that make a differnce?

Check your cigarette lighter/power outlet fuse. Don't know how far back it goes, but some of the more current cars power the OBD port on the same circuit. Had that happen to me on a 97 Cavalier.

thank you i will check it out i was thinking a fuse but i dont know much about OBD.

ok i checked the fuse and its fine. anything else i could check. been trying to figure it out for awhile

I don't recall ever seeing a power wire on OBDI. Did you try the paper clip in theAand B on the ALDL?

the check engine light only comes on when the car is running but yes i checked it with paper clip and the check engine light does not blink.
