specter not sure who your directing the "thermostat not on the radiator " at but im failing to find that statements relevence here since no one has made any mention of a thermostat being on the radiator. can ya help us out and clarify the relevence kurt

i was mostly saying you wont get it to bleed on the thermostat housing. i think [&:]. the way i read it it sounded like you said your tstat is on ur radiator. and you would use this to bleed air and fill the radiator completely.

i know some high end race radiators have a bleed opposite the fill. a cold start up with the cap off and refilling as the water gets pulled through the system is just fine in this case

[&:] nope nope there are brass air bleeder valves on my heater hose and on the thermostat housing (which is on the water pump). a common set up for vehicles with radiators that sit lower than the engine or have pressurized reservoirs at about the same level as the coolant passages on the engine kurt
