Wow. Welcome to the forums. You are asking a question that is somewhat extensive to answer. You will need no special tools, I have a vacume pump (brake line bleeder) so I am able to do the job by myself. Priming the master cylinder is nothing more than ensuring there is brake fluid in the reservior and that you have 'pumped' it at fluid seeps out where it should. Priming it comes after you bench bleed it. Why are you doing a job like this on your car? has it sat for a while or did a shop tell you it needed to be done?

RE: abs pump master cylinder
My Mothers husband trying to help/learn on how to change brake pads on his car I was bleedeing my brakes along with changing the pads. Well instead of putting brake fluid he put power steering fluid in my reservoir wich messed up the rubber parts in my master cylinder and abs pump. I didn't notice what he did till I started loosing pressure in my brake pedal about 2 months later looked into the problem and found out that what was supposed to be brake fluid in my lines was realy power steering fluid. So as of now I am the laughing stock of the shop.[:@]

mmmmmm that will happen. If you dont already have one I would get a chiltons and look in there for more in depth procedures on the brakes. Plus they have pictures.
