Default 99 3.8L Will Not Start/Backfires

My car is doing something similar to this...My security light will blink sometimes, My fuel pump is working, I've already done a pressure test and what not so I know its not a fuel problem...I know I'm getting all of the essentials for a car to start and run, but its not.

My problem is the car will start just about once in every 100 tries, but will also backfire when it tries to start...

The one time that I did get it to start and stay running, it ran fine, I drove it around the neighborhood a couple times, then I decided I would light into her *** and I'll be damned if it didn't start skippin and poppin and then just shut off....

And also, everytime it backfires my gages reset like the computer is being reset.

My guess...Crankshaft Sensor, Camshaft Sensor or the computer itself...Who knows, but I'm going to throw this Camshaft sensor on it tomorrow....

Let me know if anyone has any idea what this problem could be or if you have experience this problem...

Thanks

scan it for trouble codes and let us know what comes up.

When it was scanned I got multiple codes, 02 sensor, trans slipping (which is bull****) and things that I fixed long ago, Its also said faulty MAP sensor, which I replaced and still, It says, Faulty MAP sensor...I honestly think that scanning the bastard is just a waste of time at this point...

My manual did say that if the computer unit is going bad it would scan erratically, and well, It's giving me a bunch of error codes that I know are not the problem...but would the computer being on the fritz really cause the car to backfire when it attempts to start?

Im 100% lost on this one.

Default Not right map sensor

ok so you say you already replaced the map sensor well do you no if it was the right one because sounds like to me you have installed a 2bar or 3bar map sensor and it calls for a 1bar sensor unless you have up graded and put a cam in or bigger injectors
