98 camaro rack and pinion removal.

Is the Rack and pinionboltedto front of the engine cradle with mounts?
98 camaro V6.

Take a look, the rack is right up front.

There is a problem, they engine cradle is smashed.

Two bolts hold the stering rack to the front subframe. If the subframe is bent up there is a very good chanche that the aluminum steering rack got broken.
