97 camaro: Power seat problem
Hi,
I'm having two problems with my Camaro 97.
1) Power seat: My power seat won't move forward/backward. All other motions are working fine. Right now it's all the way back so its very hard to drive. I was wondering it is possible to have it fixed, on my own or from a mechanic. I tried to search for the motor on the Autozone and it seems like they don't have it.
2) Power window problem: Both my power windows are not working. When I press the button, they move a little and then die. It seems like there is a motor problem. I went to a mechanic and he said that it is actually a motor problem. He said that he could fix it for $400 ($150 parts + $250 labor). I really do not want to pay $250 for labor so I was wondering it there is an cheaper way to have it fixed.
Thanks a lot for the help.

Check out the above link for motor replacements. If you have a screwdriver and a drill, you can do it!!! Pick up a motor at Advance Auto or somewhere like that for around $70 and 45 minutes worth of work each door and your done.
As far as the seat, I would check to make sure you are getting voltage to the motor before replacing it. The switch on the seat could be bad and not the motor. Try local auto salvage for the motor.
Good luck!
