i think you are probably just describing wheel hop. happens when youre tires are sticky enough to lift the rear off the ground. you get on it and the back end bounces. its hard on the rear end and should be avoided

[&:] by "gettin on it " do you mean trying to do a burn out or just accelerating down the on ramp. poison--- specter is talking about wheel hop which is a condition where the tire gets traction but then loses it, usually due to suspension and tire grip which causes a fairly violent thumping or shudder in the rear of the car kurt

[&:] the acceleration slip regulation button is basicly the same as traction control(possibly a more familiar term thats getting pretty common) it uses the abs system to brake the wheel with limited traction forcing the other side to (supposedly and hopefully with more traction) to become the drive wheel. dont know that it has any real plusses or minuses for the normal driver except does help in traction limited situations. for us hot rodders it might be considered a less desirable option than a posi or locker for the rear end. i havent seen any head to head comparisons between a posi equipped and an asr equipped car but id venture to guess that all else being equal id think the posi equipped car would accelerate a little faster in a drag race( anyone have some input here) kurt
