$$$Painting the front end of a 4th Gen$$$
Hi guys,
How much $$$'s do you think it's going to cost me to get Cammy color-matched back to her old color? It's like a tealish green normally that turns very blue when sun hits it in the summertime blaze :P
Without paint:

With paint:

Specifically these parts need to be painted(they aren't even primed as of now):
left/right fenders
Front bumper cover
SS hood

$579.52..........
JK,paint prices run the gambit ,you can get a whole car painted from about $400-$4000 so you'll just have to do the leg work and shop around.
I'd think about having the whole car painted.

Are you painting it or someone else? Is that a factory color? If its one of those aftermaket paints that changes with the light. Repaint the car.
With computer color matching you can do a nice job blending they can even computer match the hvy metalics now but the computer can only match one color and the computer has no clue what the lighting was when the paint was scanned.
There is also no way to really telling you a quote. If you take the car around to body shops you will get quotes from 2K to $500. If its factory paint I would expect the 2K job to be tuff to spot and the $500 job would be a 20 footer.

I'm gonna have a garage do it - I'd like too try painting but don't wanna mess up my baby! I'm not sure if it's a factory color or not - I bought her used with that color, I'm pretty sure it's like 'pearl'? You can see in the engine parts where they didn't clear coat and it's just kinda a flat blue-green color but where the clear coat is it'll change between blue/green depending on the lighting not super dramatically but definitely color change.
What do you mean 'the $500job would be a 20footer?'?
thank you.

Looks ok from 20 ft away, but upclose you can see its not right. Any car guy will spot spot a 20 footer pretty quick.
If that is a aftermarket standard pearl they might be able to figure it out but if its one of the 3 part painting system they may not be able to blend it well. I had a friend you painted his car with that last year. He screwed up the do while buffing it. He still had all the original paint and still did not match. When he asked the paint supplier he said temp and humidity can effect the final shading.
The body shop should be able to tell you in advanced. I would imagine if it is that type of paint they would no quote a blend job.
