Painting my front bumper, need some help.
Hey, my 87 z28's front bumper looks pretty bad, now the car is black with a purple clear coat, so i am trying to figure out, if i sand down the bumper(plastic) then prime it, then paint it, can i use some high quality spray paint for cars? Or do i need to take it into the shop to get a good job done, in other words, will it look crappy if i spray paint the bumper? AND, do the paint i use to be the exact color of my car? Or can i just use a glossy black? Because my car looks shiney blackish purple in the sun. In the picture you cant tell.
Heres the camaro, you can see the front bumper is bad looking.

quick answer...yes it will look crappy if you use a spraycan
bumpers need to be painted properly, with the proper materials, and that includes putting flex additives in the paint so it doesn't crack the first time the bumper flexes
also, what makes you think you have a purple "clearcoat"?
