Yeah, the car had about 14,000 miles on it and the driver had about 18,000 miles on him back then. I was racing a '67 Barracuda 273 4 bbl and would have won, except for that little mishap.

I really haven't done anything to dangerous, usually if I run someone it's like 0-70 or a 30-110 run as long as the road is completely clear and no chance of someone coming out of nowhere. It's those videos where they are going 130-150 splitting around traffic and stuff that I consider dangerous.

But I did do something really stupid. I was 16 and just had my new 350 put in my 87' GMCtruck. So me and a friend were racing, it was a 3 speedauto but I was shifting it manually. So when I was about to shift into drive at about 50mph I went to far and put it into reverse. It was crazy, tires locked up, lost power to everything. I started her back up and drove away but about 6 months later I had to replace the transmission.

The dumbest thing I ever done was let my temper get to me causing me to street race. Me and a couple of my buddies were hanging out in a parking lot in our small town when this 94 Mustang kept driving by taking "laps" as we call it here. Everytime he would come around he would get on it and just stare at us. After the first few times he done this one of my friends was like "I bet you can't beat that Mustang. He would walk all over you." So being the dumbass I am I told him I could so I got in my car and waited for him to come through again. When he finally did I revved at him and he kicked it sideways nearly hitting my Camilia Camaro.

After that I got behind him and followed him to this stretch and was behind him about two car lengths when he took off. I ended up beating him and was doing 125 in a 50 (THAT WAS STUPID!!!) I get slowed down and turn off onto another road and was like cool no cops Im good. SO I call my friend and was like "I beat that POS Mustang!" Im excited for this kill my adrenaline is going when he says " DO NOT come back into town, there is three state cops looking for you right now." So at this point im freakin out and just start taking back roads so I can avoid going back into town. As I am doing this a guy calls me and tells me that a cop just talked to him and asked him if he knew who the guy was that raced that mustang because they didnt get the make of my car and only seen the mustang. Well needless to say I ended up calling this girl 40 miles away and she let me park my car in her garage cause i was so paranoid....didnt drive my car around for like a week and now I obey the speed limit and leave the racing to the track.....That one experience with the 5-0 was one too many for me!

Ive heard a bunch of different reasons why the police are called the five-o. Some say its from the Tv show Hiawii five-o which was about the 50th states police department. The most believeable i have heard is that in the 80's some police had the 5.0 mustangs and if you saw them comming you would say the Five-o as in 5.0

and yea that would be scary, be glad you had freinds watching out for you. And good idea keeping it at the track. I find racing at the track much more enjoyable anyway.

Well I have two stupid incidents...one is racing, the other is just driving. Well anyways I'll start with the race. I was 16, it was my first car, so ya needless to say I didn't have much driving experiance under my belt. But anyways I was driving a Chevy Beretta...cant remember the year. I know POS, but anyways a dude in a beat up honda was reving it next to me at a light so I reved back. At green we take off, we were neck and neck when we hit the first light. It was green so we kept going, by now we are hitting like 80 in a 30. We are still flying down the road, hitting like 100 at the next light. We go through a yellow, fly past a cop who was waiting at the intersection. Needless to say he came after us in hot pusuit. Well the honda slowed and pulled over. I had so much adrenaline from the race, and fear from my parents, cuz I knew if I got caught they would kill me and dance on my grave. So ya...young, and stupid, fear and adrenaline...bad mix. I ran, crested a hill, hit a light yellow, made a left turn from the far right lane and took off down a few back roads and pulled into my buddies drive way. Just after I got out of my car, my buddy pulled in behind me cuz he just got home from work, so I quickly jumped in his car and acted like we just got there and I was just getting out of the car, because a cop came rolling down the street. (And before anyone says anything, I know I was stupid, and lucky because no one was injured, and I didn't get caught when I should have.)

Now for the just driving one...Well I was about 280+ mile from home, visiting a family member who was diagnosed with bone cancer. (I was 17 at this time). Well at the time when I was planning on orginally leaving to go back home I had recieved a call saying that my great grand mother (the one diagnosed with the cancer) had collapsed and was being taken to the hospital via ambulance. So I went to the hospital and stayed there for a while. Well when I left to return home it was already dark outside. It was a Sunday night, I had a doctors appointment and school to go to the next day. Well anyways on my way home Im on the interstate pushing like 120 in a 65. (again young, dumb and stupid) I thought I was playing it safe. Everyone ahead of me seen me coming miles away and pulled into the slow lane to let me pass. Well a cop caught me. Well here comes the odd part of the story...well I pulled over and the cop didn't feel I pulled over far enough for him to fell comfertable to come to the drivers side. So he walked up to the passenger side (my engine was also smoking from traveling at such high speeds). Anyways the cop is telling me to roll down the passenger side window. Well I couldn't because the window switch on the driver side (for the passengers side) didn't work. So after a bit of "roll down the window" and "I can't, it doesn't work" I slowly leand over towards the passenger side to roll down the window when the cop drew his gun on me and started shouting at me. Well I freaked out and put my hands up and kept hitting the roof of the car. Well long story short...the cop figured out the window didn't work and opened up the door. The cop realized he scared the sh*t outa me and only wrote me up for doing 30 over. And I had to work my a$$ off to pay for the speeding ticket. God dam $800 speeding ticket. But oh well, I had to pay the price for my stupidity, although I did get let off really easily. And again I know I was stupid so don't lecture me too bad. (Sorry about the post being so long)

I got pulled over for 118 in a 65 in my girls Honda Civic...it was a fine of $560. not fun...at 3am i rolled my Cavalierinto atelephone poll and some trees. my friend was in his Eclipse and we were driving at 80+ I walked away with some scrapes and some bruises and that was it.Now I wear my seatbelt because I got tossed from the car. A telephone pole costs around $1500.

oh boy where to start
i know all of these are stupid as hell (but fun none the less)

raced my 4.3 S10 with open exhaust and intake agaisnt my friends crx with stage 2 clutch.
middle of the day 25mph residental straightaway.
left a patch like 40 feet long and was in front the whole time. my speedo only went to 85mph he said he let off at 93 i kept going till i hit the limiter.(97mph)

same truck:
the copsshut down a huge bar/club an hour early, dumping about a thousand angry drunks into the streets that surround it.
so what do i do? duh. get in my truck and start smoking the tires up and down the strip in front of the bar while the cops are trying to arrest people walking. the cops are looking at me like WTF and im just laughing. ended up getting away too. i have no idea how they didnt catch me cept the were on foot when i took off and there was huge crowds of people walking round the streeets.

my first car (88 buick century) :
drag racing up and down a 3 lane main strip by my house. now i know what your thinking [buick?] well it only had 32k on it when i got it so it was still factory quick. and wed pull up drunk 5 deep and try to race the hot rods and almost always lost.

94 sonoma 2.4l:
delivering pizzas pulled up next my friend (another delivery driver) in his 88 dakota. we both had the pizza signs on and both trucks were white so this had to look funny. but we floor it from the light going back to the pizza place. got back to the store and some old guy calls like "i just seen two of your drivers doing 70 mph in a 40.our boss was a stoner so he didnt care. but were like Ha more like 85mph.

and lately:
i just got my camaro (see sig) it sound like a beast but its just a stock 305. and no one will race me i revd my engine at a stealth and the guy wouldnt even look over he just sat therestaring straight ahead looking scared. its kind of a *****. not that i need to be racing any more. im old now (25lol) and i got too much to loose. but i still remember the good ol days : a stupid *** kid wasted racing everyone from every stop light for no reason cept excitment.

ha nice stories...its good to know that im not alone.....i thought the one about the cop drawing his gun was funny dunno why tho. i dont know what i would do if i had a gun pointed at me. probably do something stupid and get shot. but ya i beat the stang and im glad i had friends looking out for me...i talked to a county cop the next day and he told me not to be hot rodding for awhile because the state cops arent so kind so i took his advice since he knew it was me and he's very respectable in our town....not everyday a cop knows youve been racing and just tells you to quit hot rodding...cops like that are cool
