okay lets face it if you street race your doing some pretty risky stuff out there but whats the riskiest or stupidest or scariest thing youve done in a race you know that thing that you really hate to tell people about well im gonna make you tell the whole forum............

heres mine i was was racing one of the base model celicas on a high way that almost never have people on the speed limit is like 55 we had slowed it down to like a 30 roll and i was begining to run away with it as we got up twords 75 mph suddenly were coming up on this mini van in my lane doing like 40 hes still closfe enough on my rear bumper that i dont feel okay about cutting him off but i dont have time to slow down i swing it into the emergency lane glide through perfectly then slide infont of the mini van and the the celica stupid would never do it again but it felt soooooo cool at the time

When I used to street race, we did it in a way that was as safe as possible. It was always late at night, on a desereted back road or industrial park with no cross roads and without a ton of people beside the road. We would set up the race at a parking lot and then drive to the spot, race and get out. I nor any of the people I raced with every went at it in traffic. At the most we would get on it for a gear or two but that's it.

Well, one time it was like 1am on a friday night. And me and a freind wanted to race, so I said i knew a good spot out in the woods. so the plan was thhat we would have a truck at the finish with its headlights across the road to mark the finish line. Then we would drive the entire corse backwards at a reasonable speed. And he would follow me to the starting line. He had a girl with him to wave us off. So after we line up she decieded she wanted to ride along. So I counted it off out my window (he jumped, BTW) but i didnt care we both went. this was a very twisty and winding road. Tall trees were right next to the road and we had no room for error. It was only 1 lane each way so we were using on comming traffics lane.

Anyway we go threw the race and we were both drifting around corners at unbeliveable speeds, 90+. (bragging rights were on the line) And on top of that I was in a convertible. Anyway it was a drag race to the finish and I lost at his door. It was an amazing race. But after the race the truck left to pick up the girl (that road along with us instead of waiting at the start) so he went home & I went after the truck. On my way back to get the truck I passed a mustang, then I saw a BMW. and then a little later on the same road I passed another car. This was on the same road we were just racing on, not 2 minutes before. There were tons of blind corners & we were hitting speeds above 100. so it could have been tragic, but somhow we both made it threw the race without crashing.

That was the stupidest race. Ive done a few stupid things just driving. One time i was passing 3 cars on a road out in the country. and after i was passed the 1st car the 2nd car decied to pass the last car with out checking his mirrers & missed me by 2 inches. I pulled away just in time to miss him & went into the grass at about 90mph. The car started to spin but I kept her in a strait line & came to a stop. Just as the 1st car I pass went by me.

Then there was the time I tottaled my convertible...

I know this sounds bad, but honestly on the street im a pretty safe driver. But when i race I race all out. I mean we were in the middle of the woods at 1 am. And at the time we thought it was a safe spot. after that we said we would never race there again.

before i get condemed by the black car mafia here (JD and bad) like i said basicly this highway is deserted all the time only thing at the end of it is a really good chinees resturant that was already closed for the night so we had figgured there would be nobody and the high way is a very slight uphill so if sombodys a couple few miles out ahead of you then you cant see them even more so at the time we were racing it was right about 7:00 pm so the sun was going down and we were driving west so ya

I dont hate street racing, i dont like wreckless driving, however most of street racing is wreckless...

There is no such road as a deserted road or else it would not be a road (I'm talkin paved roads here)...there may be inactive roads which would be suitable to a point, going around blind corners at 100mph is lack of common sense, and it would not be a problem if you were the only one on the road, if you die, unfortunate, but if someone else dies/injured because of you, tragic

just be smart...not mostly smart

there is a fine line between lack commen sense and ignoring it....

It was 1 o' clock in the morning & I had never seen a car out there in the day let alone in the middle of the night. the only people's lives we were willing to put in risk were the 2 of us driving & anyone who consented to ride along. Like this thread says, it was the stupidest race. I could have told you about the races that went off with out a hitch. Like the time we drove out to the 1.5 mile strait away that is hidden in the woods & I beat a 240sx by 9 lenths. and then we left. But thats not what the thread was about....

Interesting statement...but if you believe your ignoring common sense, isn't that in itself a lack of common sense?

the only people's lives we were willing to put in risk were the 2 of us driving & anyone who consented to ride along.
but that's not what happened is it, which is exactly my point...

nothing personal stig, just pointing out why most street racing is idiotic, not only to yourself, but to others affected by your overconfidence

Ok I said "only people's lives we were willing to put in risk" I never said thats who we were putting at risk, i said "WILLING"

What the hell is the point of making a thread about the stupidest race you've ever been in. and then when somone posts a really stupid dangerus race, your basic responce is: well that was stupid...

Oh you think?
