How fast is a 3.8 v6 anyway?
that v6 can spank just about every 5.0 ever made cause mine walked all over a 89 5.0 and it got 160,000 miles and a worn out clutch and still beat any ricer in my little town. good luck with your new car.

My car runs just under 15 with full bolt ons. I have an auto transmission with the 3.42 gears and a stiffer suspension. Not exactly sure why mine is faster than Stigs...

So I finally bought the closest thing to my dream car (97 Camaro SS, but I settled for a v6 seeing as how the Z28 and SS are all above $15k anywhere even near here.) and it is a 97 Manual V6.
Coming from a history of slow vehicles such as a toyota tacoma, toyota camry, and jaguar vanden plas, this is the fastest thing I have ever driven; but how does it really compare to other vehicles (such as stock rice cars like lancers, wrx, etc.)

Also, this list isent 100% correct. but it can give you a basic idea of what most cars are capible of. http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
i have a 5 spd 96 3.8. out of the many ricers that i've raced, the only one that gave me a run was a scion tc. but i was overdue for an oil change and didn't have my new transmission
.
i'd say my 2 favorite victories was when i beat a 95 mustang gt and a 5.0 mustang. i don't hate mustangs, i just didn't expect to win those.
the 3.8's are very reliable engines as well. have 198xxx miles and have ran it hard ever since i've owned it. (not too hard).

You have 3.42 gears with LSD. Im still running 3.08 with no LSD. Your times sound about right for your mods, I would exspect about 14.7.

Bolt-ons is about all you should do to a 3.8, no offense. The money spent try to catch-up to the speed of a z28 or ss could be spent on buying one of the aforementioned cars. Make no mistake though, you'll make take-out of the average jap cars.

in some areas depending upon the car market it is far less expesive to build a 6er to the level of a V8
