same deal with my 85 lesabre. when i replace the bulb for the gear selector and my speedometer. the gear selector is now off by 2. you just need to pull the guage and tinker with it a bit. it will be very tedious though. if theres clearance reach up under the dash and see if you can do it that way. doubt it tho. things are never that easy lol.

How do you adjust it, plus I think my parking pin is broke, b/c when I put it in park I will roll for a little bit and it will finally click into park....?....is that whats happening, and if i adjust it will that cause this to stop?.....if i need to jus replace it what would be the best replacement that isnt a ratchet action shifter??

is the roll like a foot, or maybe an inch. all my cars did that, when i come to a stop and put it in park. turn off the engine and let off the brake. it would move a bit. thought it was common.

def. need to adjust your linkage...i have a 79 with the same problem. im just to lazy to adjust it. u have to adjust the metal linkage that goes over the exhaust and over to the steering col. behind the key is a collar. when u put it in park. turn that collar towards the door. and it should give u enough to get the linkage to go enough to lock in to the park pawl. hope this helps!
