I just bought a 89 Camaro RS with the 305 TBI. Im having a couple problems with the engine. First problem is when im sitting at a light waiting to go my engine will boog down and almost die, It hasnt died yet from it but there are times where it has come real close. Next problem is if im driving and then stop somewhere and put it into park and then put it back into drive shortly after, right as the tranny switches gears it dies. The last problem ive had is sometimes(not always) when im driving and then put it into reverse it dies, now its only down it like 2 times since i bought the car last week but i know it shouldnt. Can anyone help me at all.

 

Give the car a tuneup, plugs, dist cap, rotor, check plug wires, clean air filter. If still bad, check the idle control.
