Default Recommended ATF fluid?

I am going to servicethe autotranny on my '96 Z28 this week. I will replace the filter and fluid and wanted to hear any positive comments or recommendations from you guys as to what is a good quality ATF fluid to use, what works best in our transmissions.

My car has 64k miles, its my daily driver and I put about 250 easy miles every month. Thanks for your help!

If he transmission is stock, it will do fine with factory recommended stuff "DEXTRON III or IV", or some synthetic equivalent. I like to use the DELCO brand, because that was the factory fill, but other brands should also do the job.

Thanks for your prompt reply Pete, and yes, my tranny is stock. I'll try to check out the Delco brand; I forgot to mention that I live in FL, so freezing temperatures are not an issue. What is better between Dextron III and IV? better detergent propertiesand/or shear resistance... basicallydifferent additives on a common base or are they different products altogether?

DEXRTRON IV is the latest version, and is backwards compatible. I really don't know what the difference is, but is required for late model GM transmissions.
