Question about Battery and Oil....

Question about Battery and Oil....
First the battery question....
The battery in my toy is showing the needle at 13 while driving etc. I am thinking that perhaps I should consider a new one. In my MR2 I ran an Optima battery (red top.) I am considering putting one in the Camaro (maybe a yellow top?) Has anyone done this? Any advice? Is there a better battery for the Camaro? Oh yes...she is a completly stock 2001 V6.
Now the oil question...
I want to change the oil...well have it changed to synthetic. In my MR2 I ran GTX because it was great for small engins that ran hot but the Camaro is a BIG engine. Is there a favorite synthetic oil amongst the board users? Any suggestions?
