well first i need to save some money and ill do the rebuild. its not a four speed because there is the slot for 5th and 6th gear, they just dont engage. and the top speed in 4th is 110 and dont four speed got faster thatn that?

a good friend/mechanic told me the problem isprobobly the shifter and it makes sence becauseit is sometimes difficult to put in in reverse. could this be the problem?

It could be. Take it too a shop and have it looked at. Its easy to do your self but if you do make sure you know what your doing. I would lay off the evo's untill you take care of this isue if it is the trany you could be hurting her ever more.

 

thats actually very possible, not being able to shift into some gears or having a hard time shifting into them, or them jumping out of gear, it could be caused by a couple of things, it could either be misadjusted linkages for the shifter, the synchros in the tranny, worn gears, and so on, but i would deffinetly bring it somewhere to get looked at if you don't want to drop the tranny for nothing,

 

all right, im getting it fixed wednesday. the guy who sold the car to me said the roll pin that connects the gears to the shaft broke and i hope thats the problem because then it would be a very cheap fix
