New Engine Help
I just got a new engine put in my 97 v6, and i've put about 1,000 miles on the new motor so far. It doesn't seem to have very much get-up. I understand that it doesnt have a whole lot of get-up-and-go because its only a 6 cylinder but my last engine had a heck of a lot more power then this one does. Is it just because it's a new engine and it needs to get broke in or what? I was on the highway today and a freakin Plymouth Breeze blew me outta the water...what the heck??
Yeah it's funny you mentioned that..my check engine light is on..but i took it down to the mechanic who put my engine in..and he said that it was the 02 sensor that was bad.. for my exshaust... so i dont know... it just seems like its missing a little bit.
Heres the thing with the CEL (check engine light) in the newer Camaros. Any time that light is on it sends the computor into what is called limp mode, basicly it is a default setting setting that is ultra safe, they did this so that you could drive the car to the shop without really hurting it. If the O2 sensor is indeed bad that will send the computor into a fit and the results will be things like a loss of HP and poor gas milage.
Thanx for the advice.. I'm working on replacing the sensor, but those bad boys arent cheap. So do you think that is the answer to my question?? Getting that replaced then i should be good??
