Default a good 350 build?

i am new to the v8 scene (used to work and build tuners) and i am still learning the whole american motor...

i just bought a 350 motor, the guys i bought it from said its from a 86 chevy motorhome with 77,000 original miles and its a 2bolt main.. but for $75 i cant realy complain,

i am going to be rebuilding it from the ground up, i am wanting to go with a 383 stroker kit either the 3rd or 4th red one from the top (<-click)

i say that because they are supposed to have lower compression and i plan on supercharging later on after i get a good build.

im just not sure what kit is good for running with out the s/c, and which one would be better the one with the longer or shorter rod length?

but as far as the top end i have no idea...
>what cam would be good
>what heads should i go with
>do i need to upgrade the valve springs, rockers, etc..

im asking for help to build a good motor with all your opinions and help on what would be a better setup

i hope i didnt loose anybody in my post if i did just ask and ill do better to explain?

thanks

if your gonna build a 383 your gonna want a 4 bolt main block or have your 2 bolt block splayed (coastly)
most 383`s have 9;1 cr or higher and i think a sc needs to be 8.5cr or less i may be wrong?
you can get wicked hp from a sb without a sc
i have a 383 with dart heads pushing 500 plus hp
i just built a 355 350 bored .030 over with 64 cc heads with 2.02 valves a comp.magnum 280 cam and it dynoed at 424 hp on 93 octane pump gas

yea the block i bought for $75 was said to be a 2bolt main but when i pulled it apart it was actually a 4 bolt main.

i decided to not go with a supercharger right now maybe later down the road.

does anyone know were to get a good stroker kit? i found this webiste just not sure if i want to go with flat or dome top pistons, and which one i should go with they are all based on different hp, and if i need longer or shorter rod length, i was thinking shorter... but im not too familer with stroker kits.

i was thinking of going with a big ***** thumper comp cam?? i dont know what heads i should go with... im still looking for input from anybody.

thanks

If you're going to supercharge I'd stay with 350ci, just my personal opinion. If you're going to stay naturally aspirated then go with the stroker. JMHO though!

Unless you're going full tilt, take no prisoners racing, you'd be better to go big block or just use nitrous on a stock stroke small block. Other than that, I wouldn't complicate it any more than that. If you have to be the fastest around, then cost will be no object and nothing can be ruled out. In a case like that all the high zoot internals will be used along with either blown and injected or a big tall tunnel ram with dual quads or dual quads on top of a 6:71 blower. And remember, the more power your engine makes the more you have to tweak the chassis. That includes subframe connectors, tubbing the rear, maybe a four link setup and so on. How fast do you wanna go? It boils down to, literally, how much you wanna spend and how much work you're willing to put into it. And remember: The more high strung your engine gets the more you're going to have to continually work on it to keep it at it's fastest and the less streetable it becomes, just ask anyone that owns one.
