I am sure all of us are aware of the fact that you cant have a radical engine and at the same token have good gas mileage. But, I would like to know the border line. Where I can push the engine as far as i can while being able to run unleaded or mid grade.

I am going to find a 350 4 bolt main from a junk yard and i wanna build it up a little bit but not too much because I want to keep good gas mileage. I am also thinking about swapping to TPI instead of TBI. Any advice on what I could do would be great.

there is a $ 3k - 4k budget ....
