I had that exact same problem on my 1991 camaro, man, they were a pain to get to. I had to jack the car up slightly and go underneath the the passenger side to get to them. Only major thing in the way was the starter (positive and negative posts exposed, ouch) and the engine mount and suspension arm. other than that, it was a sinch. I'm not sure how the 4th gens are set up, but i also removed the o2 pump on the passenger side, so i could get some help from the top too.

i took of the egr (small pipe connected to you exhaust manifold) and then you have access to 3 of 4 on the passenger side and for the last one you need to go under the car. drivers side was pretty easy.
