Default any performance from fuel injectors?

i dont think many people have though about it, but are there any gains from replacing the fuel injectors? are there any upgrades out there? how much are new injectors anyway?

If your old ones are maxed out or clogged so bad that they can't be cleaned then yes. You won't need bigger injectors untill you have a big cam and heads in most cases.

well, i was concerned about them being dirty because after running some dry gas and injector cleaner, the number one cylinder was still running lean. it had a minor ping comming from that area, and the prongs on my bosch double platinum plugs were pushed inward (but not melted)

would you guys recomending replacing/upgrading if i am going to do be doing more performance work to it? i plan on a few minor things, namely headers, some intake things, and a computer chip and ignition.

My .02: unless you're really going to be burning a lot more fuel, I don't think it would be worth your time. If you work on the internals and end up having big numbers, then it might be a good idea. Save up and get some nicer heads and a cam, like JD 1969 said.

I would get your injectors cleaned and checked, well worth the money. Right now the stock injectors are 19 # and on a 305 even with mods, larger ones will not help performance. Ifyou go larger you will also require a custom chip to increase fuel by the ECM. My opinion. Cost of replacement for the origional GM parts are about $100 EACH and you can find cheaper ones but they will be that " Cheap".
