I have a 85 camero with a 305 and a 4bbl quadajet. i am having a stalling issue, when i come to a dead stop i stall out not all the time. and when i am driving i am having a stumbling feeling, i have good fuel pressure, my idel in park is usaly 8500 but shes been around 6000.. when i am in gear its 6000, all my vacume lines are closes off. what do i do????? i went from a import to muscle and the carb is a new world for me..i reset the idel mixture, from 2 1/2 turns out. wat else could it be!!!!

 

So you Idle at 8500 and 6k?

 

I'm sure you meant to drop a "0" in your idle description.
With a hot engine, remove the air cleaner, look down the throat of the carb, and see if the choke butterfly (front set) is wide open (straight up & down). Maybe your choke isn't opening?

 

Choke is wide open, I pulld my tach wire thinking it could be a short, jumpd her she startd right up, I am gonna runn her hard tommorrow. And see wat I get, she only does it when I am drivn for a hour or so? Could it be my ecm?
