so I'm starting to look for engine blocks for a build I want to do. I am looking at building a built 454. I've been told that instead of getting a brand new engine block that I could find a solid used one if I found the right casting numbers. I'm looking at trying to make 600-700 hp N/A.

So a couple questions... is this going to be a difficult build? Is it possible to find a stock block that will hold that hp rating easily? where can I find said casting numbers for a solid block?

im asking this because some of the brand new 454 blocks are up to $2400 just for the block. I want to do as much budget as possible but I don't want a cheap motor and will spend what I need to for quality/lasting parts.

help please!!!!
