Default Hood Alignment Suggestions

My 71 has a fiberglass cowl hood and I'm having trouble getting it lined up. I have got it adjusted where the hood sits flush next to the hinges and up front by the latch. However, it is sitting up too high on both front corners, is there any way to fix this without doing major mud work? Swaping out the hinge springs for lower tension springs wouldn't do anything to help right? I am not to familiar with working on fiberglass, I am unsure if I can reshape it without damaging the paint, so I'd appreciate any help...

Do you have tha hood hinge springs on? IF SO TAKE THEM OFF! Fiberglass doesnt stand up to the pressure from the spring. did u adjust the hood stoppers on the rad core support?

Do like Matt said and take those springs off before you break your hood in half.
Also the easy thing to do is remove the latch so the hood is not being pulled by it. The hood may be latching and the stoppers may be pushing the corners up. Make the hood so it closes good and sits fine without the latch then install the latch and make it fit that way.
Also I had a harwood on my 84 and the change in temp would make the corners move. I adusted it in the sun and it sat fine but as it cooled the corners would rise.

just some more advice put some tape on the edges of the car and hood so u dont chip the paint if the other person holding it does drop it too fast. Good call Mike about the hood latch.
