So Im planning on changing out the rear end in my 79, the one in it now has 2.41s and the one going in has 3.42s, so Im pretty excited. anyways, the question is, will i need an alignment afterwards? thanks

No, there are no provisions to align the rearend anyway. The new rearend housing will drop onto the same leaf spring alignment pins as the old one was on. All will be the same.
