Default Clay Bar

Put your hand in a bag and run it over your paint. Does it feel rought? Use clay bar to give your paint an ultimately smoothe finish. It takes out dirt fromt he surface of the paint. Be sure to reapply wax after it.

before doing this, to get best results make sure you use a good surface prep to get the wax off the car (a cheap alternative is Dawn dishwashing detergent). once the car is completely washed, begin to use the clay bar on your car. make sure the car has plenty of lubrication before trying to rub it. they sell special solvents for this or just use a spray bottle with a water and very slight Dawn mix and after a good waxing you will be amazed with the results

Professionally speaking, yes you are correct. Quick detailing spray wax is an excellent lubricant. I still wash the car with auto wash and keep the old wax there because it will get picked up with the clay bar. I run Meguire's paint cleaner then clay bar it then polish it then wax it. I get ULTRA smoothe shine because all the dirt is taken out, all the surface scratches are taken care of and I use Sterling Labrotires Green Monster Wax.
