Default Removing a fuel pump

Hi guys new to this forum I have just got a 94 Z28 convertable & was told I need to replace the fuel pump, do you have to remove the back half of the car to get the tank out to do the job as I have been told or is there an easier way around it. This is my 4Th camaro i had a 69 pace car that was stolen 23 years ago & in the last 18 months have had two Gen 3's & now a 4th gen. I also own a 82 corvette I am from Australia & I am the President of the American Muscle Car club of Australia our web site is www.amcca.com.au we have a great forum on our site if anyone wants to join in it would be great to have you.
See Ya Garry

not sure the easy way can be done with a convertible. there is a spot that can be cut under the hatch on a hardtop. you basically cut a hole above the pump to access it

yes, you can either do what stan said. or if you want to drop the tank you have to remove the rear axle and suspension to drop it. it might take alittle while. but thats what i did on my camaro. id rather spend some time and do some work then cut ahole in my car. but its all up to you. whats the camaro doing if i might ask.

With a convertible, you don't have much swinging room to cut a hole above, let alone having clearance to lift the sending unit up and out. To be able to drop the tank, you need to jack the back of the car way in the air supporting it by the frame, support the rearend with a jack, remove the rear portion of the exhaust, disconnect the shocks from the axle, disconnect the panhard/lateral bars, lower the axle down and let it hang, and take the right coil spring out. After that, the real fun starts.
