Default Removing 3.4 fuel rail

I'm in the process of replacing my gaskets and doing some WELL needed cleaning , I've removed ever nut and bolt I could see, the only thing I'm stuck on is that pesky fuel rail, Ive changed plenty of head gaskets but the 3.4 fuel rail seems pretty complicated, any advice? I have some movement of the plenum but it wont come off until I get that fuel rail off

From what I remember there are two bolts bolding the fuel rail to the upper intake. One of the bolts is also used to hold the injection harness connector to the top of the fuel rail. The other bolt is also used to hold down one side of the fuel in/out pipes bracket.

With those bolts removed you wiggle and pull up to get the fuel rail out along with all the injectors.

The injectors have to move a bit come out their bores and, since the o-rings are probably pretty hard with age, there's some force required.

I think that when I did eithe my engne or the parts engine I had one or two injectors break loose from the fuel rail instead of the intake. It wasn't a big deal becasue I was able to reform the retaining clips and reuse them.

Vacuum or blow off the lower intake manifold where the injectors sit before you pull the fuel rail/injectors or a whole bunch of accumulated crap could drop down into the injector bores.

I had to use a small crow bar/pry bar to pull mine off. I just couldn't get it yanked out with just my arms. Be gentle!
