Default Fuel Cells

I was wondering what's the best way to mount a fuel cell in a 79 Camaro. It is a mostly street car, but it has the hp to be serious competition on the track. I was wondering what would u guys recomend for the ground clearance? I want to have subs in the rear and 2 nitrous bottles and a 20 Gal fuel cell.

It will be a trick to get all of that in the trunk. If You mount the speakers against the rear seat, Make a firewall between them and the cell out of aluminum and mount the cell as far back in the center as You can. You should be able to get the NOS bottles on each side of the cell. I'd try to seal the cell from everything else in the trunk, maybe in an aluminum box ( should be pretty easy to fabricate ).

Another option is to get the sump kit for your existing tank it allows for the larger an fittings, I dont know if Mi has inspections/emmissions testing but if they do it can be a bit tricky to get a fuel cell to pass. I think you can get a cell that is steel with a bladder inside that will mount below the trunk and you have to buy the neck extention. I have the plastic one it the and to be honest it isnt all they are cracked up to be its just a plastic gas tank with a sponge in it. If I was diving it on the street I dont think I would want it in the trunk with two nitrous bottles unless it was really well sealed off.

Thanks for the advice. I might go with a sump kit for the existing fuel tank. I like the way the trunk looks MOSTLY stock lol.
