Default ECM swap & VATs

Hi
I have a 1991 Z28 with a 350 TPI engine.
I'm swapping out the ecm with a ecm from a 90-92 vette.
The chip will be my old one or I might try to find the hypertech chip before hand.
Will I have any trouble with the Vette's ecm and Vats with the ignition?

Im changing out the ECM because it won't communicate with my mechanics $4K scan tool
....so I found one recondition by GM for a vette at a good price so I figured I'll swap it in.

There may be a different system of VATS between the F & Y body ECM's. I would do additional reseach before spending the money.
