Default Can I upgrade my car with a chip ?

I just bought a 94' 3.4 V6 automatic it is my first Camaro and I don't know much about them.
I've heard people talk about replacing some computer chip in their cars to make them go faster and perform better, can I do this to my car ?
What does replacing the chip do ?
Any info would help alot, Thanks

You can, though some people will come on here and say "no, you can't get a chip". I know what you're talking about. The "chip modules" just piggyback your computer. For performance you won't benefit a whole lot. It adjusts the timing and fuel a little. It's not going to make it as fast as your friends make it sound. I'd just save your money.

You could use a whole bag of chips and it will not increase the horsepower on that 3.4 V6.
