I have a 2005 volvo s40 2.4i and the whole car is controlled by a computer in the fuel infection which is sensitive to high voltage chagnes. I recently purchased a kicker L7 and a class d amp to power it at 750watts rms along with 4 gauge wire and a capacitor. With this system is there any risk of me frying my main computer and if so what else should i do to my system to make it safer? Thanks.

The only problem I see, is the system drawing more power than the alternator can supply. This will allow battery voltage to drop, and most computers will shut off if the voltage is too low. That being said, you should post your question to a Volvo site as this forum specializes in Camaros.

Even i think that system is getting low voltage because of this it is happening such.

the only car's i've seen where improper connection of aftermarket audio causing electrical issues are vehicles with anything with LAN or CAN bus or Fiber optic connections. go to a trusted local car audio technician and have them give you some in site on your car from. i don't typically work on Volvo's due to the fact that not many aftermarket integration or installation parts exist for them.

no it will be fine! i have a 15" kicker L7 and a 1000watt rms amp, i used to cap and it was fine! anymore than that and you would want to look at high output alternator, but dont worry! just make sure you install it right! wires conected right, and tight!
