maybe your fuel lines are clogged or the pump it self is getting overheated

What kind of fuel pressure are getting at the rails when the new pump runs fine? The pumping action makes the pump heat up, and flow of fuel through the pump is what cools it. Running at a real high pressure with little to no flow will make it overheat. There are other reasons as well.
