93 Octane Gas???

looking through the thread.... lots of agreeing with each other and specific reasons as to why... and then a "it wont help" w/ no reasoning whatsoever..... anyone else find that very irritating?

Think of octane as being able to unlock the potential of your car. In many cases a lower octane fuel can allow the car to make all the power it wants. However, in your case, in cars set up to run high octane the computer will retard timing as previously said when running lower octane fuels. therefore you are not reaching the optimum performance of the engine.

higher octane will not NET you any power, but it can bring some back you werent getting before due to lower quality fuel

Another thing to add is higher octance fuel is known to burn cleaner and can help clean build up in your car. Also glad to hear I am not the only person with a retarded fuel gauge.

When my gauge says 1/2, I have 2+ gallons left, that's retarded!
