Cool Alternator Problems

I have a 67 Camaro which is pretty wild, stroked 350 Chev Edelbrock heads, cam, Lifters, manifold, carby, bla bla bla when putting this motor together I left the standard HEI distributor in the motor and never upgraded the alternator I am now noticing that the voltmeter is ideling on 11 volts and under revs goes to 14 volts
This I think is part of my battery problems and I was wondering should I be upgrading the alternator and maybe the Dissy all in one go?
Or can I just look at doing the alternator only?
Maybe going up to the next size alternator?
If upgrading the alternator is the answer do I need to change anything else?
