I'm not a fan of Kicker myself. I've always been an Infinity guy. Great speakers for the price, and they're all over ebay brand new in the box.

I have a 12 in. kicker L7 that I like alot. Got 4 infinity reference door speakers too. Sounds pretty tight.

L7's are decent drivers. I wouldn't call them a good bang for the buck, but they get their job done.

Infinity speakers though; [sm=smiley21.gif]

But sound is suggestive, so, whatever floats your boat captain.

Indeed. If you really want the best opinion on speakers, go somewhere that has them on display and take a listen yourself. The only way you're going to be satisfied is if you hear it for yourself. Like Hisss said, sound is subjective. What sounds great to me can sound like utter crap to you.

I personally like my sound a little punchy on the bottom and really bright up top. That's why I'm such a fan of the Infinity products. Their upper range frequency response is pretty good. If you're going with components, they pack a bit of a punch down below, too. Not what a sub would produce, but it's good enough for me.

I know a lot of people that like shoving 6x9 speakers in their doors, their rear decks, and sometimes in their dashboard. They think that sounds good. To them it does. To me, all I hear is the garbled bass being farted out by the oval drivers.

If it sounds good, go with it.

I can't tell you what you will like.

But, if you would like to, you can pm me, or ask on here, and I will suggest some good brands that you can ask a local dealer to let you listen too.

They are no different than a ricer with a fat wing, and a fart can. Their drivers sound horrible, and they are usually Wal*Mart brand Lightening audio, or some over-hyped AudioBahn garbage.

I promise, AudioBahn is like xanax to the idiots around here.

Right now, my car is equipped with some older Boston Acousics full range speakers. Doesn't sound bad, but the speakers want more power than my deck can feed them. I guess I need to install my pre-x-plod Sony amp and get some power out to them.

When I put new speakers in my car, I'll be assembleing my own driver packages. Two way in the front (high mounted tweeter, door mounted midbass) and a single pair of midbasses in the rear deck of the car. It's been a while, but last time I "built" it on paper, I was using Dayton Audio midbasses and Vifa Tweeters. The crossovers will be hand built by myself on a nice fiberglass breadboard.
