suggestions on getting more from sub
i have a sony xplod 500w amp and a 500w 12" sub. its in the trunk of the car.. one thing i notice is if i pop the truck the sub pounds way more. Just wondering if i can get it to pound like that with the truck closed, there's no outlets in it, could that be it? also the speakers go alot louder then the sub and on my buds system the system could be around 20 and the sub be going so loud u cant hear vocals.. mine wouldn't do that if my life depend on it, is there control/boost upgrade i can buy? or do? thanks

You'll find out really quickly that you are only waisting your time with that sony stuff. I know its an amazing price and looks great, but in the car audio world you get what you pay for.
Save up and upgrade to something like Pioneer, RF, Alpine, BA, or Kenwood.

Well it depends. The reason it sounds louder with the trunk open is you are giving it more air space. What is the cubic feet of your box?Ported or sealed?
Whats your crossover set at?Give me a little more info and i can try to help you.
AS far as the "cheaper equipment", yeah i agree that the quality in sound and performance isn't there, but if done correctly can still sound decent, cause i have made some wally world pioneer's hit pretty hard on the meter (while smelling the voice coils burn).
