i would say no just because one of the greatest things of a big engine and performance is that it sounds great so you should want to listen to the engine more than the radio or a cd

well, i put in the subs today. i used a different set of speakers than those in my geo. these have bigger magnets and a plastic like cone, where as the others were a hard paper. deffinatly much louder/firmer. however, i can barely hear it outside of the car, but i can hear everything rattle though, i.e. tag, bumper, tail lights, door trim, interior trim. sounds nice though.
oh, and i couldnt find any power wire on its on, so i used two peices of 12 gauge house wire to run to the back, and it works well. cant wait til i get the 1200 watt amp vs. the 800, but that will be in a while from now

subs = FTW
yes you can hear every rattle especially in older cars, but no matter what kind of tunes you play, it will sound great

yea, well, technically, it was my dad. it was stripped of the interior and ran a 15.7 at 77 mph with a stock engine, the bottom cut off the air box, and a hole in the muffler. it weighed 2300lbs at the time. i can get it down to 1400 come summer, and ive added intake and exhaust for a whopping $50. i also have the ticket for the stereo that was in it, was $267 and we fought it down to $115.
