Monsoon question
Okay I need some help. I just got a2002 SS Camaro with the Monsoon system a couple of weeks ago and I have a question about the stereo system. The window sticker for it states it has an eight speaker Monsoon system but I can only find places for six speakers. Are there 2 speakers (ie woofer and seperate tweeter) in the doors?I also believe I have on of the amps going bad in my passenger side door because it sounds like crap. I have read other posts pointing toward the amp and not a blown speaker. Are the amps located near each speaker or is there one amp for the whole system.

the tweeters are not powered with the woofers next to them, they are a separate speaker element. they are powered directly off of the head unit where the others are powered by the amp

So are you saying there are 2 speakers in each door behind the single grill? Are there individual amps for each speaker or is there one amp that powers all the speakers execpt the tweeters in the door.

there is one factory amp and the head unit is amplified, is what is being said, just like and aftermarket set up. i do believe the amp is just behind the passenger back seat by the speaker located there, but i could be wrong on that

I have an '01, and had to replace both my speakers in the doors (yes they are two speakers in one), there is a design defect, and the upgraded factory speakers do not have this issue. Got my OEM replacements on eBay.
