I got a new battery but in my 98 camaro v6 and i have an eclipse cd5423 head unit and it says i need a disc to reset it. the only problem is that i dont have the disc and my friend ibought the car off of doesnt have it either. so therefore i cant use my headunit til i reset it. is there any way i can possibly bypass this or override the reset? or would i have to take it to the dealer that installed it and let them do it? i pray to god i dont need another head unit

 

You can't bypass this, as much of a pain in the *** as this seems, it's an awesome feature. You can take it to an authorized dealer and they should get it reset for you for free, some places may act like they need to charge you or whatever, they don't. Or you can call Eclipse, the have excellent customer service and will walk you through everything. You by no means need a new cd player, don't let anyone tell you that.
