Re-manufactured calipers (frt & rear) are gonna set you back about $50 each, + $40 core charge each.

While in there, don't forget slider pins/hardware & pads. Rotors (low end prices) will set you back another $50 each.

Pads are $50 frt & $50 rear....

Don't forget to check the flex hoses while you are in there also.

If the work is done for you, it's easy to leave $ 500+ on the counter....

Actually they weigh about the same. But again, I don't know of any parts store that's gonna go and compare them. I know I don't. If its says "caliper" on the box and there's a caliper in the box, I accept it. I mean, if you wanna drive all the way to PA, I'll swap them for you.

You can also do them Crabys way, just get some junk ones from a junk yard. Actually, now that I think about it, check ebay. There's probably cores on there for cheap, which you'll need the front spindle to put on the front calipers. I've heard of people grinding off a little from the calipers and the ear of the spindle, but why do more work?

Also, all the hardware will come with the calipers.

Rough price on all the brake stuff (all calipers, all pads, all rotors, 4 hoses) you're looking at $487 with the cores taken off. That's going with OE quality pads. Add $10 for brake cleaner, fluid, and caliper grease as well.

To you're original question, I probably wouldn't give more than $20-30 for used calipers.

No you need the 98-02 spindles as well, since the calipers mount differently.

LS1 Front Brake Swap

I would search your local craigslist and see if anyone is parting out a car or has them for sale. Or crawl through a local junk yard. Just so you don't have to piece everything together.

I was talking about the hub not the spindle. the hub mounts on the spindle.

I know all about the front and rear brake swap for my camaro socom.

Are you doing this for 3rd or 4th gen Camaro? I noticed under your name it says 82 Camaro. If that's the case, your swap is NOT the same as it would be for a 4th gen.

I have an 82 and a 97. the 82 is the z/28 pace car. the brakes from my 97 will go towards upgrading the brakes on my 82 before dropping the bbc under the hood.

Also good to know the hubs are the same. saves me enough to get SS brake lines for the front. unless of course I break a hub.
