Cool 94 Z28 Getting new paint...again

Ok, so when I bought this car, I got a crazy deal because it needed a ton of work. Quickly, it needed a water pump, opti distributor, tune up, tires, all the fluids needed replacing. There was a bunch of interior work like a broken seat, power window motor needed replacing, door panel switch cover was broken. Drivers mirror was broken. Coolant level sensor was bad. I've had to do some serious body repair work to the right rear quarter panel. The bumper, right front fender and right mirror needed repsraying. So after I did all the bodywork to repair the dings in the tops of the quarter panels, and repaired the right rear quarter panel with fiberglass, I did a quick but beautiful job repsraying only the necessary panels and parts, just to get some paint on her, while I addressed the more important issues. I have been fixing everything else to get the car back to like new condition before I could justify doing a full spray since the rest of the paint was decent, except for some cracking on the hood. I would wait till the full respray to deal with the hood. (I just overhauled the entire chasis with all BMR suspension components as well as Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs. Also replaced all the sway bar bushings and links for starters). Ended up doing a water pump and a fuel pump and sending unit as well. So now...I'm redoing the entire interior as we speak, and then its on to preping the body for a fresh coat of black. I plan on going with PPG Glassurit. I'm taking the hood to bear metal, then coating with 2 coats of primer. I'm looking for that soaking wet look, so ill be spraying 5 coats of black and 3 coats of clear. I'll be doing it inside my ex bossoes spray booth so as to get a better than factory look. I'm ordering all the supplies to prep the body. Once the weather is alittle warmer, ill spray the body and see what kind of wet sanding job lies ahead. I'll post pics once I get the photobucket thing worked out. :icon_sultan :

If it's copying from photobucket to here, copy the " img" link and paste it here.

May the Gods of orange peel be kind to you and spare you the wet sanding and buffing.

But, if you are going for the mirror finish then you're going to have to sand and cut anyway

good luck
