Default Window problem

im not sure if this belongs here, or in the exterior or interior section so feel free to move it if need be. just let me know were its moved to.

here is the problem.. the other day my drivers side window decided to start acting up.. it used to have a slight problem. wouldnt go up completely straight. once it was about an inch from the top i had to kind of pull up one side to have it be even with the other. and now the window just fell off the scissor lift. the motor still works, i took off the inside door panel and i can see the scissor lift going up and down, but the window is at the bottom of the door, fallen off the tracks. one of the scissor lift ends is all bent, and the rubber ball that goes on the tip of the lift and into the track on the window fell off. .

i was able to get the window back on. only one side of the scissor lift is on the window track and the other side is just kind of hanging. its bent and missing that rubber peice so there is no way of making both sides go in the track.

has anyone ever changed one of these? im sure the motor is fine but im gonna need a new lift for sure.. the thing that worries me is that there is no room to work in there!

and by the looks of it, there is no way of taking off the sheet of metal that is behind the door panels. the only way to get into the window motor and all that is through a small hole on the bottom left side of the door.

should i give it a shot at fixing? or take it to a shp or the dealer? any one know were i could possibly buy the lift?

my bike is still in peices so i need my car and i dont want the window to just stay down with no way to shut it one day at work.

Found this thread with some instructions for you.
https://camaroforums.com/forum/82-92-general-10/how-replace-window-motor-5675/
Replacing a regulator and or a window motor isn't all that diffucult if you have the basic tools and some patience. I have most of the tools, it's the patience I lack LOL.

Good luck.

i replaced both the window motors on my 95. it would be easier to just buy the whole window motor assembly. the hole on the inside of the the door will work. also take out the door speaker to get better position. the biggest thing i could say get someone to help you and don't mess up the inside fiberglass part of the door when drilling out the rivets.

would i have to take the whole motor out and drill out the rivets even if i just need to swapp out the scissor lift? the motor still works fine.. and i just noticed another problem that might be a big problem..

i looked over at the passenger door and at the top of the door there are these 2 white plastics. it looks like they kind of guide the door, and make sure it doesnt wobble inside..well those 2 pieces broke off!.. i dont know how but they are missing. how can those be replaced? the part were they mount on to the door is broken

it might be worth tryin to fix the plastic tabs. i remember seein them when i replaced the motor but i dont have my car so i cant be 100% sure on what they do, but if your gonna get a new scissor part then why not fix all thats broken? also you do have to drill out the rivets to replace scissors. if im not mistaken you would also have to drill the rivets out that hold the motor on to the scissors.
