Default Will this exhaust setup work or will I waste my time?

Okay so my 3.4L is straight piped to a flowmaster and although it sounds good at idle and lower rpm but i hate the higher revs and the cackle when it idles down. I was wondering if putting a glasspack in the place where the cat was would take some of the raspiness out and smooth out the tone a bit while leaving the flowmaster in its place. I know when I owned my 4 cylinder Sunfire this was the trick to taking the rasp out of the exhaust. Any ideas?

You could try a high-flow cat...

Add another muffler there. It'll growl deeper and loose the rasp.

My Flowmaster system has a resonator box built into it that really helps eliminate that V6 rasp. I'm not sure that a glasspack would help, though.

Thanks for all of the input. I'll be sure to check out some of these ideas. I like the resonator box idea.
