would traction bars be a waste of time?
ok well ive got my car running halfway deecent now and im gettin into raciing a bit. now as everyone probably knos now i ahve a 2:73 open rear whitch i hate, but for right now it works cuz ic ant afford a new rear and i can get good gas milage with the one i have. my main question tho is woul putting likw traction bars be a waste of time on theis car for traction purposes? because even tho its just a one legger i would like tot ry and keep that one wheel from spinnin off the launch...im planing to push about 400hp through it eventually and if it blows o well lol. but yea im j/w if tryin to get tis car to halfway decently leave is impossible or not
With a car putting out any decent amount of h.p., traction bars are money well spent. If anything, they'll save you from breaking a spring by preventing them from wrapping up under torque. And get the good kind that bolt on in place of your leaf spring retainer plate. The cheap "bolt to the leaf spring" types just puts the force from the front half of the leaf springs onto the back half of the springs. If you plan on having 400 h.p., you better start saving for a posi unit too. No matter how wide your tires are, with only one grabbing it's going to be a burn-out machine.
yea im deff getting a posi when i ahev spare money and a spare car lol...but right now ima round 300hp and i cant get my little one legger to stick to the street lol...but yea by the tiem i ahve 400hp through the car i should have money for a new rear...but for right now and just for this summer i wanan take it to liek atco and stuf but ill never be able to afford a rear so im doin w/e ic an t at least keep it from spinnin ...cuz ive almost lost to to many slower cars cuz ic ant keep that one wheel from spinning
