Default WHY IS MY RADIO CUTTING OFF?? could it be a time delay relay going bad?

Please help, i have a 1996 camaro rs with an aftermarket head unit. i have changed the cd player a couple times and thought it was goin bad or something. but i hear a clicking noise when the cd player will shut off, which makes me think tha there is a relay goin bad....since the radio is on a time delay because the radio stays on after the car is turned off...i bought a relay called a BWD R3093 which is supposed to be the right one, im just having trouble locating it, since no one really seems to know much about this.....can anybody help me

Thank you,
PHilip

i have a 96 rs also and mine does the same thing. i believe it has something to do with the factory amps. it doesnt happen with the factory stereo correct. i dont think its a big issue i just deal but if you find a way to fix it let me know

Here is a link to a thread that may be the cause of your problem. This is really common and will usually fix the issue. One question for ya... do your power windows work when the radio cuts out? If they dont then I will put a 100% on this being the problem.

Let me know if the image of the BCM board shows up for you. It is not showing up for me on this computer but that could just be this computer.

^ Oh, I wouldn't say 100%. The timer delay function is broken as soon as a door is opened. The problem could also be an intermittant door jamb switch/connection issue.

^ The door jamb switch being bad will not cut out the radio while driving or when the ignition is on or in acc.

Mine does this too, but only if the car is at a certain angle and if you press the brakes. It's an intermittent problem.
