When I hit the gas on the highway at about 50 mph it seems like there is a noticable delay when the auto trans is downshifting into a lower gear, more than normal. This happen on everyone elses' camaro? Any mods I can add to make it shift quicker?

When the transmission works properly it will shift down without any hesitation. This problem usually involves sticking valves, weak solenoids, or just plain wear. Try replacing the tranny fluid with OEM type stuff (Delco Dextron III) and it may just take care of the problem.
