Default Why does my rearend spin posi and sometimes not?

So I have a 1995 Camaro with a v6 5 speed. Just recently i noticed that it has posi every once in awhile and other times it just has one tire spinning. It usually only happens if I drop the clutch to burnout. I was wondering what the answer might be? And also what is the most cost efficient method of obtaining a locked rearend?

Your can can drive with either wheel. If one wheel is on some dirt ot your going around a corner then one well will spin. But is the traction is equal on both wheels then both wheels will move together.

Cheapest way to get a posi rear is to buy the whole rear axle from a V8 car and you can get a nice brake upgrade while your at it. Anything to do with replacing the carrier or gears is going to require the rear to be Set up by a pro. Even if you got the parts to redo your rear for free the labor setting it would be more then what it would cost buy the used Z rear. Swapping axles is a job you can do.

Best movie I have seen about it. This is how an open diff works.

And some details on posi and lockers
