Default whats this part called

i have a 97, 3.8L... and leaking oil, its not leaking from the filter its leaking right above the filter, i think its the oil senser. it has a wire harness to it. do any of u guys know what its called? and how to change it?

A picture would help but you are likely right and they can leak like all get out.

I believe you are talking about the oil pressure sensor or some call it a oil pressure sending unit. Simple replacement, just unscrew it and screw the new on in. Have a shop rag near by in case some oil spills during the process.

yea they're really simple to replace..and yea it sounds like the pressure sending unit
